Theoretical Physics Group at Parma

ISTITUTO NAZIONALE DI FISICA NUCLEARE, Sezione di Milano Bicocca - Gruppo Collegato di Parma

Since 1991 the INFN group at Parma U has been organizing the ''Seminario Nazionale di Fisica Teorica'' (SNFT), a national school for graduate students in Theoretical Particle Physics. In 2006 the school opened to international scholars from all countries and became the Parma International School of Theoretical Physics (PISTP).

Decoding the Path Integral: Resurgence, Lefschetz Thimbles and Non-Perturbative Physics

September 4 - 10, 2016

An overview of different topics in resurgence theory is given from a physical point of view. Resurgence is well-studied in the context of quantum mechanics, where it provides explicit relations between the contributions from different saddle points. Applications in quantum field theory - both in the continuum and on the lattice - and to string theory is more recent. The main goal of this School is to bring together PhD students and young researchers with different specific interests and show how resurgence has been developed and used in various areas.
